The Museum of Pop Culture's mission is to make creative expression a life-changing force by offering experiences that inspire and connect our communities. No matter your fandom, MoPop is a gathering place for those looking to celebrate what they love.
How did you first discover the work of Alex Ross?
Hmm' It's difficult to remember the first time I saw the incredible artistry of Alex Ross, probably his Anthrax covers. I also recall noticing numerous comic book covers that continuously broke the mold and stood out from the crowd while browsing comic shops.
What about Ross's work made you interested in bringing it in for a MoPop exhibit?
Alex truly is a visionary artist who continues to push himself artistically and visually. It's hard to imagine how he can make a piece of art even better, but his work continues to grow, evolve and take on a life of its own. Not only in scale and complexity, but in the deep emotional connection one feels when viewing his masterpieces.
