"I use a Windsor-Newton series 7 water color brush #4 almost exclusively."

"I use Gouache (a water color medium almost exclusively now for all my art."

Ross sticks to Nolbein Artists or Windsor-Newton Gouache paints.

Ross uses an Iwata HPC airbrush.

"I airbrush something on almost every piece I do."

STEP BY STEP
After several sketches to finalize his design. Ross begins to pencil the final piece using photo references for the flowing cape
Ross Begins to add details by using photos from magazines, books and photographs he has taken himself.
  Sometimes using props or items...
The tight and detailed pencils before Alex gets ready to paint.
Ross begins to lay in the blacks, outlines and shadows. Once the blacks are done he begins to paint in the gray shadows and textures...laying in a large range of warm to cool grays.
"Once the black and grays are laid in, I start painting in the colors. Which ones I start with depends on the image and my instincts. Typically, I'll start with the primary colors or Dominant feature."
"Once the colors are completed, I finish the piece with airbrushing. Virtually every piece I do requires some airbrushing, particularly to make the highlights gleam."

"Typically, I'll let the piece sit for a day and come back to review it, just to ensure I still like its impact and that I didn't miss something in painting it."
